2 entries in a 5 hour span!
There’s not much to do since I got in today. Some updating of the corporate web, some name card thingy which cannot be confirmed yet…and lots of net surfing and msn chatting with whoever that is online (and that’s alot to ask since nobody comes online in the afternoon).
I was surfing through some of the blog design awards and stuff and bah, some of them sucked. I’ve seen better. Really!
Decided to head down to NTU this weekend to check out the courses. I might not be able to afford it but there must be some way out (God, I really am that poor!). I’m still hesitating to apply cause I’m afraid I might get admitted, but don’t have the $$ to pay the tuition fees. I would be so &^*&^&$%^$#%$ disappointed! I could always do a tuition loan but…that’s just dumb. The interest rate is crazy and who can garantee me a high paying job when I graduate? Talking about the interest, it starts from the first month/year (or something) after graduation. No shit. Wouldn’t that be the same as a bluddy bank loan? Cos since I can’t afford to pay now, what makes them think I can afford to pay while I’m studying?? Of course I’m gonna pay back when I graduate, which is when the interest starts piling. Can I roll my eyes?
I did my portfolio over the weekend and it’s pretty!
Zen: It’s very…white!
Me: ….Thanks.
Edison: That’s very nice!!!
Me: Whee. I always knew you had exceptional taste!
Sam: Wah! Nice le! Do one for me!!
Me: Well, I charge. *smiles*
Sister: Looks ok. Make one for me lar!
Me: Huh? You study business le. What you want a folio for?
Sister: Nice mar! You never do things for me *whines*
Me: Ok. I do some sort of online dating thing for you. Want?
Sister: *pouts* I don’t mind as long as I look pretty in it!
Me: (-_-”) Ok. I’ll try my best!
L: That’s a terrible picture. Act cute!!
Me: I am cute!
L: (-_-”) No you’re not. *runs away*

A LITTLE LOST
…then again, I’m always lost.
I realise there hadn’t been many moments in my life where I thought I’ve finally found the direction in my life and that I’m going to follow it till the end. Even now, soon to be a quarter of a century old, I’m still trying to find my calling. Does everyone have a calling, by the way? Surely there’re people like me, who walk through life not truly knowing what they were meant to be.
I don’t want to grow up. It seems like fun when I was little. But now, it isn’t fun anymore.
Just now as I was walking home from the train station, I spotted an old man who looked terribly like my father - just alot older. I was suddenly gripped with fear - it wasn’t funny, I tell you. The vision of my father, my parents, being really old scares me. I can’t imagine life without them. I don’t know what to do without them. I don’t think I can live life alone.
Yesterday when I was having breakfast with my dad, I asked if he missed his parents. He said no, he can’t quite remember what it was like with them around. I didn’t believe him. How could he not miss them? I don’t think I’ll ever stop missing my grandma.
Sigh. Why does life have to be like that? It isn’t fair - to give life then take it away. Don’t give me crap about going back to their Maker’s arms. 死了就 一了百了, 哪被留下的人怎么办?
Eeks. I know, emo entry, but thoughts like that keep me grounded and sane at times.
I wish the earth revolves a little slower. Give me a little more time

WHY IS TODAY A HAPPY DAY?
1. One of the most painful projects which I’ve been doing - which has dragged on for 3 months - has finally ended! I have no idea how it’s gonna turn out, but I pray for the best. Afterall, it’s been 3 months of hard work. Sigh.
2. I’m going to watch Jacky Cheung!! (Oops, have I mentioned it already? Sorry, am too happy!) I heard from Doreen that he’s not going to be holding another concert in the next five years! Phew. Thanks KK!
3. I saw Masatomo-Jun lookalike outside my work place today. Such a coincidence! And he was wearing the same clothes I saw him in last week. Hmmmm….
4. I’m watching 奸人堅 right now. It must be the most entertaining drama I’ve seen in a long time! *Heart* Dayo Wong. He’s too cute!

XANGA TO BLOGGER
Something make me happy... say, shopping sprees, or having a particular dish, going on luxury tours.. even sleeping in late. If you get to have/do it all the time, the magic wears off some day, doesn’t it? Do these little things still make you deliriously happy when it happens then?
Digressing, been talking to BK about adventures. I think everyone should have at least one adventure in their life. Going abroad alone, living somewhere where no one knows you… doing things you have only dreamed of doing.
Went clubbing with Stan, BK, PQ, Evwin and Dehua the day before I headed for KL. My virgin experience. I must be queer because even when I was younger, I’ve never really had the impulse or desire to go clubbing. I don’t understand the addiction. I still don’t. One experience doesn’t speak alot but I must admit, it was rather fun, but it’s not worth the trouble lar. If it’s free and I get rides to and fro, then hell yeh, I would go. Hehe.

CLIENTS SO STUPID YOU WON’T BELIEVE IT. Rawr!
At 7pm yesterday, she called to ask me to make some minor changes to the 2 brochures I was supposed to do for her. She started off making nitty gritty bo liao changes like grammar and vocab changes. Jesus! What a waste of my time!
At one point of time she called and screamed: “Why is this…blah blah blah? I trust you to use your own judgement before throwing in everything that I sent you..blah blah blah.” I wanted to tell her: I didn’t ask you to think of designs for me, I would trust you to check your own work before sending them to me. Why should I do your work for you? Bitch! But of course I didn’t. I can’t :(
Finally, at almost 11pm, FA is all done and ready to be sent to the printer. Unfortunately, it adds up to over 200mb of files and so we’ll have to go thru’ FTP transfer. She emailed me and requested I send the working files to her. I told her: Sorry, files are too huge. Won’t be able to email them to you. (And God knows what she wants them for because those are all working files and there’s no way she could view them anyways. Idiot! But she emails back and insisted: No problem. I have 1GB of storage space. Please email them to me.
Ha ha. What a joker. Was she trying to cheer me up? I ignored her. But she called. “ Can you email the files to me? My email account can take up to 1GB of files.” I sighed. It’s 11pm and you’re trying to test my patience. “I can’t. It’s not about how much storage your account has. 200mb just won’t go through.” She huffed. “Why? 200mb is pretty small, isn’t it?” She insisted in that cheesy accent of hers.
I hate it when she asks me why. Why should I waste time explaining something you won’t understand?? “It just won’t. And 200mb of files is pretty huge. (At this point I purposely stifled a soft, yet audible laugh of mockery) 200mb won’t pass the transfer. Nobody uses email to transfer 200mb of files.”
“Oh?” She pauses to absorb all that information that I’ve just piled on her head. “Well then..”
“I’ll copy you the email I’ve sent to the printer. That way you can keep track of the status of the printing. Ok?” I interrupted her unkindly. This bitch has wasted my Friday night, I’m not going to let her waste another minute of mine! “Alright. Fine. Please do. Thank you.”
I hung up and immediately called Singtel to permanantly bar her number from my calls. I don’t want to be ever hearing from this witch again!

WRONG EQUATIONS
I had a talk with my shrink, Mr L, today and he said something that stuck: ”It ain’t sad till you make it sad, honey.” I don’t see him often, but I think I’ve got the best shrink in the world. Plus, he’s cute and he calls me “babe“. That does alot for my ego! :D
I’m looking forward to the weekends! I’ve got some catching up to do. And, I’m finishing up Dicey Business this weekend! And get some shopping done. Wheet~

MY NEW BEST FREN
I get emotionally attached/dependent on people too easily. It’s not bad thing, but it’s not a good thing either. On the other hand, if I don’t like somebody, that bad impression stays on for a really long time and I make almost zero effort to go change that. Now that, my friends, is definitely a bad thing.
Went shopping last weekend with PQ and PQ’s sister in Bugis trying to find a dress for this Friday’s formal function. Somebody told me it’s okay to dress down. Er, luckily I didn’t buy that or I’ll be in a huge fix now. Managed to get something really nice! :) I saw a tonne of gorgeous dresses at BYSI, but their sizes are just absurdly big. After, we had dinner at this cool little Taiwanese eatery. Great noodle soup! And pretty economical too. A little short of choices though, else it would’ve been great-er.
I wonder if I’ve gotten myself entangled in the scary world of endless work. If it ends, I’m afraid. If it doesn’t, I get more afraid.
I had a pretty bad week. I spent a full day trying to work out one f*cking design. I ought to be shot. Do people usually take this bloody long to get something out? I’m getting worse at this.
I was browsing through Friendster awhile ago, looking through pictures of people I hadn’t seen in ages and it suddenly hit me that these faces have become faces of strangers. I hadn’t seen these people for so long, that if I were to see them on the streets one day, I will hesitate to walk up and say hello. Most times, I believe, I’ll just keep on walking. It doesn’t matter how good we used to be. Time is the furthest distance - friendships need working on too. It’s upsetting when we no longer have anything to say to each other, but people move on. There’s nothing to be sad about, really.
Urgh. So tired. Shall go find somebody to rant to.

WE LOVE MAKING MERRY

It wasn’t the most elaborate birthday celebration we’ve had - it was a little rushed, everyone was a little flustered and we didn’t even get to prepare much of anything :( But despite it all, I think it had been a pretty good night, with great company.
I had lots of shite to finish that night so I only managed to leave the office around 9.50pm. My boss was kind enough to made me take a cab, knowing I had an appointment that night. Managed to reach town around 10pm, met up with PQ and rushed down to Swensons where KK and BK were already waiting. Felt bad :(
We ate, talked, made merry and took pictures. Later, PQ had to leave and we headed out hoping to do some late night shopping in hope of getting some good grabs. BUT, apparently late night shopping means everything closes before 12 midnight. Bah!! What kind of late night shopping is that?
So after walking around for abit, we finally decided to catch the last train back to the West, where we hung out at McDees for more talk and drinks before heading home.
I hate that we’ve all gotten so busy (and it’s only going to get worse) but I guess that’s what makes finally meeting up so precious.

NOTHING

It’s getting a little scary how we’re all growing old so fast, it’s not funny anymore. I was just talking to Evwin and BK about how we can only get busier. First, it’ll be school, then it’ll be work. Then, some of us will get attached. Then, the married gets married. Then, kids will come along. And then, that’s when one gets even busier. First, you worry about them growing up. Then comes kindergarden, primary school, secondary school. Then tertiary studies. Then, you worry when they start working. Then, they get attached and then get married. Then they have kids…and the list goes on, and on, and on.

WEEKEND UNO
I’m not sure if starting at 10am is a good idea at all, because that means I get off an hour later too. Which also means I get home earliest about 8pm everyday. It’s tiring, but I think I might be beginning get grasp the way things are working around here. It’s still rush-rush, which I still hate, but its not as bad as I first started. My boss and colleagues are pretty cool people too, so yeh, no complains.
I think I honestly need to give some thought about the direction I want my career to be going.
In other news, it was my sister’s birthday earlier this week! :D
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! *kisses and hugs*

WHAT DON’T I LIKE ABOUT YOU
2. Sunny Singapore - is a great place to start wearing sunnies! Do you know how much harm UV rays can do to your eyes? Let me give you a list:
(a) Cataracts (b) Cancer of the eye (c) Burn corneas and conjunctivae (d) Wrinkles around the eyes (e) Age-related macular degeneration. I’ve since made both my parents wear sunglasses when they’re out in the sun. Oh, and don’t get those sunglasses you see by the street. They’re cheap but they do nothing to protect your eyes. Make sure you choose a pair of sunglasses with a certified UV protection. The thing about Singapore is that we don’t have the culture of wearing sunnies - we rather use brellies -_-” It’s weird. Start wearing sunnies. They make a great fashion statement!
3. Be friendly to strangers - I’ve had people running away from me when I try to ask them for directions. What? I look very scary is it? Why run away?! The only people I run away from are creepy looking people and people who persistently try to sell me something even after I say no.
4. Pregnant Lady Alert! - I think it’s a pretty amazing feat, but I’ve personally witnessed 20 over people falling asleep instantly when a pregnant lady steps into the train. How do they do that? I want to learn lor! That aside, I think it’s damn rude. Give up your seat to the lady for God’s sake. It’s not that hard. These people were all young, able bodied people, mind you. It’s so sad. Didn’t your parents teach you to give up your seat to the people who need it more than you? I can’t wait until you’re pregnant yourself, or you wife gets pregnant and nobody bothers to offer their seat to you or your wife. What goes around comes around. Learn now or regret later.
5. Work Less, Play more - It’s not a sin getting off work on time! It’s not illegal either. But it will be if I do excessive OT. What is it about Singaporeans and their strange obsession with working late? We all need to live our lives more. Work when you need to, but play when you have to. We need to spend more time with our hobbies, our families, our friends, our lovers and people we love. Come’on. Life is so short lor, and we already spend 1/3 of it sleeping (cos we HAVE TO) - if we devote what’s left of it working, we don’t have much left for anything else!
6. Why so Stingy with our Praises? - If I just had a plate of super good carrot cake and if I happen to be in a good mood, I will walk back to the stall and tell the uncle he makes super carrot cake. I don’t do it all the time, but I try to. I know it will make his day, and he already made mine, so why not? If my mom’s chicken wings tastes exceptionally good that night, why should I constrain myself from praising it? Or if somebody said something that made me really happy, I will let the person know. It’s a good habit. Start saying nice things to people. It makes us happier people too!
I re-read my last entry and I realised I came off sounding a little too calculative when it comes to doing favors for people. I admit, I am calculative when it comes to favors, but for very simple reasons. I don’t believe in doing favors for people whom I feel don’t deserve it. Like for example when I feel you’re obviously trying to take advantage of me or the situation. Or I feel you can do it but you’re just too lazy to do it. Or if you’re not sincere about it - getting someone to ask someone to ask someone else for a favor on your behalf. Or, if I don’t like you. Hehe.

BLUE
I’m so tired these days too. Too many late nights I supposed. I’m stuck in this phase where I’m unable to be cheerful. It takes tremendous effort for me to smile, to crack a joke or even to make conversation! It’s killing me. I don’t know what’s going on - or what’s making me miserable. (EMO ALERT!!!) The other day after dinner with PP and DL, I was walking home when the skies were already dark. I reached the void deck of my block and I didn’t feel like going up so I sat myself on one of those stone benches facing the empty badminton court and I just …sat there. I don’t know how long I stayed - about 30 mins I reckon, until it got too quiet, so I headed upstairs.
Even shopping didn’t entirely cheered me up. Went shopping with PY for about 3 days in a row last week. Got some pretty good buys - like the white camisole from bod.bodyknits which was reduced from $49.90 to $14.90. Unfortunately, this year’s GSS was nothing to shout about. Even the m)phiosis sale was a flop. Hopefully the MNG and Zara sale this year would be good.
I hadn’t been blogging for days, I realized. But there’s nothing to blog about, even though tonnes seemed to have happened lately.
I need some serious cheering up!!

BELIEVE, OR NOT TO BELIEVE?
1) Why are they saying/thinking what they are saying/thinking in the first place?
无风不起浪 - Even in the most absurd of rumors/gossip, in it always lie some percentage of the truth.

WALLOWING IN SELF PITY
I’ve been resting in bed for the entire weekend, and today. What a waste of my 青春!! I refused to see the doctor because I’ve been there too many times these couple of months and I have no intention of getting too friendly with the nurses.
But then I have a genius for a mom, so no need for doctors anyway. My diet consisted plainly of fruits and juices for the entire weekend and I felt that sort of worked. I know there’s no point trying to upp my Vitamin C level only when I’m sick, but it made me feel healthier already! Plus points there!
I think I don’t exercise enough and don’t have enough healthy foods :( You’re what you eat and if you stuff yourself with junk food, then you’re a junkie!!
The weather sucks. It’s too warm - sticky. Makes my head pound.
Back to work tomorrow. That sucks even more.
Monday, March 5
我要谈恋爱
It’s silly but I’m still feeling it now - the butterflies in my stomach and that urge to dance around in circles. How weird is that? And then I get all these weird thoughts about confessing to Don Mei. It’s so strange. This has never happened to me before!!
-_-”
I must listen to Moin. I must stop watching sappy, sugary Taiwanese dramas.
Somebody stop me!!!

WHAT LOVELY WEATHER!
So…what the hell am I doing wasting the day away in this sorry excuse of an office?
On a totally different note…
He has nice skin. Nice teeth. Nice smile. He’s tall. He’s nice, funny. He wears glasses! And he mumbles! How cute is that?!

WHAT THE HECK?
Digressing, I just weighed myself after two months, and I lost 2 kilograms. WTF?? How did that happen?
G says I should hang on to it. How can I just give up? Shite happens, it’s the same everywhere. If you can’t take this little pressure, you won’t get far in life. Well, it’s not the pressure. It’s the way they do things that pisses me off. No point wasting energy trying to change things that can’t be changed.
Men are most charming (as charming as they can be) when they’re not speaking. Ha ha. Well, for most men anyways.
It’s only Monday and I feel I need more rest already. Is age catching up with me?
I hate the cold weather.
I was bored, so I watched this Miriam and Daniel Wu film last night. Daniel Wu is so cute! How can anyone be so cute? Why hadn’t I met someone like that? Sigh. So unfair.

RUNNING AWAY
No wonder I never see him around the neighbourhood when he lives so near. He probably darts the other direction whenever he spots me within 200 metres of his sight. Haha.
At first I thought it was kind of funny… Cute even! But cuteness only lasts that long. It’s no longer funny and no longer cute. I’m beginning to doubt your masculinity.
This is so blah I don’t know what to think of it anymore.
